Save the Date for the 2nd Annual Recovery Walk & Rally on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  The event will begin at The Lords Church of Baltimore, 5010 Park Heights Avenue and it will end at Druid Hill Park (near the Reptile House). There will be guest speakers, live entertainment, a Children's Fun Zone for children in attendance, free giveaways through a non-for-profit raffle, vendor's booths consisting primarily of service organizations, Free Food and a voter registration station. This year marks the 19th year the Department of Health and Human Services/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Serives Administration (SAMHSA) has designated the month of September as "National Recovery Month" across the country.  This year's theme is "Join the Voices for Recovery:  Real People, Real Recovery.  As part of acknowledging the significance of this yearly designation, SAMHS encourages State and Local jurisdictions to convene activities and event intended to highlight, celebrate and demonstrate publically that indeed "Recovery is a Reality".
